Winning the Game

Objective: Destroy the Enemy Stronghold

To win, destroy the enemy team's Stronghold (main base). However, strongholds are heavily protected by Beacons and 2 Stronghold Towers.

The Beacon System

Destroy a Beacon

Each team has beacons protecting their stronghold. You must destroy at least one beacon before you can damage the stronghold or its towers. Beacons act as shields.

Vote for Pixguards

When your team destroys a beacon, you gain access to powerful Pixguards. Your team votes on which of 4 Pixguard types will spawn in that lane. Pixguards push the lane automatically.

Beacon Restoration

Destroyed beacons restore after 5 minutes. When a beacon restores, Pixguards stop spawning in that lane. You may need to destroy beacons multiple times in long games.

Destroy the Stronghold

With beacons down and Pixguards pushing, attack the enemy stronghold. First team to destroy it wins the game!

Other Important Information

Surrender

If your team wants to give up, you can surrender by typing:

/surrender

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Victory Valley

Q

What exactly is Victory Valley? Is it like League of Legends in Minecraft?

Victory Valley is a competitive Minecraft MOBA server that brings classic MOBA gameplay to Minecraft. You pick champions, farm gold, buy items, and work to destroy the enemy stronghold - similar to League of Legends or Dota. The unique aspect is everything happens in Minecraft with custom 3D models and abilities. We offer both 5v5 strategic matches and faster-paced 2v2 duos combat.

Q

Where are the servers hosted?

Victory Valley runs on UltraServers hardware in the United States.
Using our UltraServers referral link directly supports the server's upkeep.

Q

Should I start with 5v5 or 2v2 matches?

5v5 is our main game mode offering the full strategic MOBA experience with three lanes and jungle. If you're new to MOBAs, you might want to try 2v2 first - games are faster (8-20 minutes vs 15-45 minutes), more action-packed, and easier to learn without managing complex lane assignments. Once you're comfortable with the basics, jump into 5v5 for the complete Victory Valley experience. Both modes have separate rankings, so learning one won't affect your progress in the other.

Q

Do I need to purchase champions or is it free to play?

Victory Valley is free to play with a rotation of free champions available to try without any cost. The free rotation is updated manually to ensure variety. If you find a champion you enjoy, you can unlock them permanently using Victory Points (VP) earned through gameplay, wins, and completing objectives. VP can also be purchased in our shop to speed up champion unlocks if desired.

Q

What Minecraft version do I need?

You'll need Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.10 or newer. The custom champions, abilities, and 3D models require the latest features to function properly. Older versions may have compatibility issues or missing visual elements. We recommend staying updated to the latest version for the best experience.

Q

How does the ranking system work?

We use a tier-based ranking system with League Points (LP). You start in Coal and progress through Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Warden, up to Dragon tier. Each tier (except Dragon) has four divisions (IV to I). You gain or lose LP based on match outcomes, and the system matches you with players of similar skill levels. 5v5 and 2v2 have completely separate rankings, so you can excel in one mode while still learning the other without affecting your progress.

Q

What happens when a teammate disconnects?

The match continues unless teams become severely unbalanced (such as 2v5 in 5v5 mode). Players who disconnect receive queue bans and still gain or lose LP based on their team's final outcome. Currently there's no reconnect feature, but we hope to implement one in the future. We recommend ensuring you have a stable internet connection before entering ranked matches.

Q

How does surrendering work in matches?

Surrender rules vary by game mode. In 5v5, all players must agree before 15 minutes, then 75% agreement is required afterward. In 2v2, both players must agree to surrender (available after 3 minutes). There's a 3-minute cooldown between surrender attempts to prevent spam. Use the /surrender command to initiate a surrender vote.

Q

What are wards and why are they important?

Wards provide crucial map vision to prevent surprise attacks. Vision Wards last 3 minutes and remain invisible unless detected by True Sight. True Sight Wards last 2 minutes but can reveal enemy wards and stealthed champions. Strategic ward placement in bushes and key areas is essential for map control and preventing ganks.

Q

I'm new to MOBAs - will I struggle initially?

The ranking system will quickly match you with other beginners, so you won't be stuck playing against veterans. Your first few games might be challenging while the system determines your skill level, but after that you'll face similarly skilled opponents. Don't be discouraged by early losses - the ranking system is designed to find your appropriate skill level quickly and place you in the right tier and division.

Q

How do I report issues or problematic players?

You can report toxic behavior, bugs, or cheaters through our Discord server or the in-game reporting system. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and employ robust anti-cheat measures. The community helps maintain a positive environment, and we take all reports seriously with appropriate action.

Q

How does the referral program work?

Invite friends! When two players join using your name as their referrer, you unlock the [VIP] rank at no cost. For the referral to count you need to be online in the lobby when they hop on the server, and they simply type your in-game name the first time they join. After both referrals are recorded, the system grants you VIP automatically.
